NADINE STODDART ARAD, PGDip Sci, RAD Teacher Certificate with Merit, RAD Registered Teacher Nadine was trained in New Zealand through the ''Royal Academy of Dance'' syllabus gaining her RAD Advanced with Honours, and the ''New Zealand Assoc of Modern Dance'' where she was awarded her Advanced Level with Distinction. She danced professionally with the Southern Ballet Theatre, Dance Co-ordinates and the New Zealand School of Dance as well as various Operatic and Opera productions. She joined the Dance Theatre of Victoria/Rex Reid Dance Company in 1989 as a principal dancer and from 1992 to 1997 was also the Ballet Mistress and Directors Assistant of the nationally touring company. Being a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance, gaining her RAD Teaching Certificate with Merit, Nadine has been teaching and entering students for exams since 1984 at various schools throughout New Zealand and Australia. The Darebin School of Dance was opened in 1993 with the desire to pass on her love of dance and all that it encompasses to a new generation of students both young and young at heart. After moving to Bendigo in 2003 Nadine has continued to run The Darebin School of Dance'' as well as teach dance in Bendigo. whilst bringing up her two beautiful boys with her husband.
INDIRA NATOLI. Bach Creative Arts, SDA Teaching Diploma, Masters of Secondary Teaching. Indira was trained here at the Darebin School of Dance, starting at the age of four and has completed all her studies, gaining her RAD Grade 8 Award with Distinction and her SDA Advanced Gold Tap Exam with Honours. Indira works with our students from the junior to senior levels and shows great maturity, enthusiasm and freshness in her teaching and exam preparation work. Her talent and love of dance is evident not only in the classroom, but also in her wonderful choreography for our concerts and competitions. She also shows her versatility in classical, contemporary, jazz and tap as a senior featured artist in many of our performances. Indira completed her Bachelor of Creative Arts Degree in 2017, majoring in music and drama. In 2018 Indira was also awarded her Teaching Diploma through the SDA. In December 2019 she completed a two year full time professional dancers course with 'Kelly Akers Full Time Dance'. Throughout 2020 and 2021 Indira managed to also complete her Masters of Secondary Education. Indira now continues to combine her passion for teaching full time as a secondary school teacher as well as remaining fully involved and an integral member of our Darebin School of Dance family. We are extremely proud of her and all that she has achieved. Our students are very fortunate to have such a passionate and knowledgeable teacher.
MILES LEE. VCA Graduate, Queensland Ballet. Miles Lee is a Melbourne/Naarm based dancer and musician. After previously dancing with Queensland Ballet, he has continued to perform with many Australian dance groups whilst refining his love for music composition with a few commissioned dance works so far. Miles began his dance education here with us at ''The Darebin School of Dance'' at a young age and went on to complete his training at The Victorian College of the Arts achieving his RAD Advanced 2 Exam with Distinction, and then with the Queensland Ballet Academy in the Vaganova method of training. He has performed in many works such as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, and has recently worked with choreographers such as Alisdair Macindoe and Stephanie Lake. Miles is a passionate teacher of classical ballet, contemporary dance, and improvisation, and is looking to strengthen his relationship with students and his craft this year and beyond. Miles will continue to teach for us on a more casual basis this year whilst he pursues his other great passion of writing and performing his own musical works, along with working full time in his new job of Arts Coordinator for a Disability Service Provider.
